Robert James Leaker

Those who have been members of the Archaeology Society for more years than they like to remember will recall with affection Mr.Robert Leaker.

He did the arduous task of Treasurer, being a retired official of National Westminster Bank, for more than 25 years with genuine enthusiasm.

He was an active member for more than 40 years. He was born at Glastonbury in 1924, but moved to "The Nook" in Lower Bristol Road with his parents in 1934. He ended his days living in the same bungalow with his cat, a man content that change did not effect his well organised life of service in numerous voluntary capacities, always punctual, always courteous and always helpful.

We were very sorry to hear of his death. Members of long standing will remember him with affection. We are delighted that he has remembered us in his will.
